Matters of the Heart

For the second time, Than-than and I received a text mesage from Elma asking us if we could meet her for drinks. As usual, whenever she wants to drown herself in beer, it is because of the matters of the hearts. She felt that Jay has been cheating on him. Not exactly having a "third" party but could be screwing around.

Hindi naman talaga kaming nagpakalasing. Elma just wanted to vent-up her feelings of frustration with her husband. She had waited for him to get home so that they could eat together. Several times, he said that he'd be coming home. But hours have passed without hearing from him, she asked again. He said that he'd be accompanying his friend to meet some girl in PWU. That was the time when she became infuriated. She felt that he didn't even consider that she was waiting for him to come home and that she hadn't taken her dinner yet! Besides, feeling niya mas excited pa si Jay na ma-meet 'yung girl kaysa sa kaibigan niya.

Kaya ayun, nilayasan niya ang mga bata (na may kasama namang kasambahay) at nakipagkita sa amin. We went to the bar under LRT Northmall where we went the first time. I had two San Mig Light while Than-than had three, I think. Elma only had one. Sabi ni Than-than na nagtataka siya kay Elma na sinusuong lahat ng problema pero pagdating sa pag-ibig, yumuyuko. Precisely, I said! Ganyan si Elma. When it comes to the matters of the heart, nawawala sa sarili. Aren't we all?

Pinayuhan ko lang si Elma na hanggang di niya nahuhuli sa akto si Jay, wag siyang gagawa ng drastic moves. Malaki na rin naman ang napuhunan niya sa relasyon nila para sumuko ng basta-basta. Ang sagot naman ni Mean when I talked to her via YM later that night, wag daw hihiwalay si Elma kahit pa mayroon nga talagang third-party. Ipaglaban niya raw. I was amazed with what I've heard from Mean. I never though of her as someone who would stay martyr in a relationship. I guess, being a family in the US had strengthen their relationship especially that they have no one else around but themselves. According to her, there was a woman who was flirting with Ruel and wanted a relationship with him. Fortunately, Ruel resisted the temptation and decided to ignore the woman altogether. Kaya nga sabi ko sa kay Mean na sadyang maswerte siya kay Ruel dahil mahal na mahal siya nito.
